As Summer fades into Fall .. Your Antidote pants transition with you

Dry when it's wet, and warm when it's cold

I was in nature for a walk with my mom this weekend. The afternoon was cool, and it confirmed the nearing of Autumn.

As we made our way through the beautiful forest it suddenly began to rain. I was wearing my Antidote pants, because, well honestly - I wear my Antidote pants everyday.

As we walked in the rain in the beautiful park behind my Mom's home, with the trees just starting to turn to fall colours, I looked down at my legs and saw ten fresh raindrops on my pants. Five minutes later I looked down again to see how drenched my pants were becoming. "Should we turn back" I thought - and still only 10 fresh raindrops, but this time they were in different locations than the first time.

As we neared my Mom's home after an hour of walking through the park I looked down one final time to see how soaked I had gotten. Still the same thing - just ten raindrops. "What in the sh@! was going on here?" I thought in a puzzled bewilderment.

I didn't get drenched in the rain because hemp is breathable and my pants were drying as quickly as they were getting wet. I wasn't uncomfortable in the cooler temperatures because hemp kept me warm when I thought I should be getting cold and wet.

Here's how it works:

Hemp has natural thermoregulating properties due to the hollow structure of the fibre. This natural design allows an optimum amount of airflow, keeping you dry and warm when you're cool. (By the way, it also keeps you cool when you're too hot, but I'll dive into that in a future post)

Finally, hemp can absorb up to 20% of its own weight in moisture while still feeling dry to the touch. And, if the moisture continues to come in, hemp begins to expel the moisture back out into the air. This means less moisture is retained and you stay perfectly comfortable while the weather changes around you.

To dry times in hemp pants,

Blake
